Our style is rich and photojournalistic. We recognize that your wedding is a distinctive reflection of your fiancé and yourself. Incredible! Monica and her daughter, Lauren, were our wedding photographers and they were nothing short of spectacular! We’ve used Monica in the past for family photos, but her wedding photography is on a different level. She is very down to earth and personable, but keeps it professional at all times. She is fun to be around and doesn’t make you feel like you just “hired” her. She makes you feel like she’s been your friend for years and is just having as good of a time as you are. For that alone, I was thankful… then I was able to see the finished product from her work … my goodness! She managed to capture everything we wanted and more. Her daughter was equally as awesome, and they worked so well together. They captured all the small detail shots and some “action” photos during the ceremony and reception that were downright perfect. These two were so great, that I can’t thank them enough. It was worth every penny! The icing on the cake…the turnaround time for our photos was so quick, it was shocking. We had planned to wait a few weeks, but received a few “sneak peek” photos in a day or so, then the rest flooded in shortly after. All in all, this should be an easy choice. There are many photographers out there that are exceptional at what they do. You will find excellent and elegant photos all over, but what you may not find so easily, is the combination of the quality of the work, with the exceptional attitude and customer service. Just one of those things we checked off the wedding list early and never even worried about. Well done Monica and Lauren.

Ricky and I were married at the Cathedral and had our reception at the Crocker Art Museum. Monica and her daughter were familiar with the Cathedral but they’d never shot at the Art Museum. However you would never have guessed it was their first time shooting there! They quickly scoped out the best locations and got ides from the environment. If anything, the novelty inspired them. I could tell they weren’t going through a routine shot list in their head but were actually focused on creating unique, personalized works of art. I couldn’t be happier with the resulting photos – she did a great job capturing our love and excitement while editing out our nerves :P.
Apart from the incredible photos, working with Monica was a breeze. She was totally professional and put us at ease. We didn’t get to do an engagement shoot because we planned our wedding from Los Angeles, so her responsiveness and great communication were such a relief.
I wholeheartedly recommend Monica to anybody who values beautiful photos on their wedding day.

Monica is AMAZING! You need to hire her! I hired her for my engagement session and my wedding! She comes through each and every time. She is laidback and easy to work with. I am SUPER awkward when it comes to being in front of the camera and have never had a professional photography session. My first professional session was my engagement session. I only know how to smile and stick my tongue out. She has managed to get some romantic and serious pictures out of me and they have turned out GREAT! Her photography skills are exceptional. Her prices might seem expensive at first, especially if you have never hired a professional before.. but it’s worth the price. Don’t try to be cheap on photos that you will last you a life time. I will continue to use her for all of my life events! Next up: maternity session (in a few years)

We opted to not have a videographer for our wedding in order to invest in our pictures. I knew instantly that I wanted Monica to do our engagement and wedding pictures, and it was one of the best investments we made. I want to thank Monica so much, as she has been so patient and understanding with us from the start. I can be a bit of a perfectionist and sometimes indecisive but she was so amazing with me, helped me throughout the whole process and truly gave me the most beautiful pictures that I will be able to cherish for the rest of my life.

Monica and Lauren captured my wedding this June and they did an absolutely AMAZING job!! The pictures were better than I could have imagined and I was so excited to show them off to my family. Monica did our wedding and engagement pictures earlier this year and did an amazing job! Both my husband and I are not the most comfortable in front of the camera but she made us feel comfortable and natural. Her photo’s are beautiful and we couldn’t have been happier. From the first time we met to the day of the wedding, Monica had great energy. Her photo’s speak for themselves but her dedication passion for photography is apparent. Along with Lauren and Adrianna they were able to not only capture the important moments but also those moments we wouldn’t have thought to capture. There are not enough stars on Yelp to rate how amazing Monica is as a photographer. I truly mean that. I photograph corporate events and have gotten to know many wedding photographers over the years, and yet when it came time for *my* wedding, who did I go with? Monica S Photography. I met Monica in 2015 (my wedding was 5/7/2016) because she was shooting a wedding I was a bridesmaid in, and off the bat she made an impression with how well she dealt with time pressure, and how nice and personable she remained throughout the day (I’ve known several photographers who have gotten cranky and rude as the wedding progressed), so I was sold on her personality and charm. “But, how good is she?” I wondered…And then I saw her photos…I was floored, guys! Her style is so soft and romantic, and she has an incredible eye for angles/details. Her second shooter, Lauren, also is incredibly talented and so much fun to be around. I did my engagement photos with Monica and wedding with Monica and Lauren, and I’m seriously upset that I don’t have an excuse yet to have them photograph me again–and I actually dislike getting pictures taken!
I will also say this, when I was looking for wedding photographers/videographers, I noticed that many filed their price packages under a heading titled “Investment.” Frankly, I thought it was just a cute marketing word because much of the work I had seen was pretty ordinary. When I came across Monica’s website, I thought surely, surely I could never afford her. Her work is the stuff of magazines. But, turns out, we **could** afford her! And *her* work is truly an investment. If you look through her portfolio, you will probably think to yourself, “Wow, these are beautiful!” And those are just strangers you’re looking at. Just wait…because when that day comes and suddenly it’s your face and your beloved’s face in those photos, you’re going to cry your eyes out. You’re going to look so beautiful and you both will look so happy and in love, and the photo will be so perfect in every aspect…In that moment, you will know that these are the photos that you’re going to show off to your grandchildren one day. These are the photos that will be most cherished and held closest to your heart…And Monica made that possible for me. I seriously cannot thank her enough. And I cannot recommend her enough. You won’t regret a single thing if you contract her.

I learned about Monica S Photography by a friend posting a picture on Facebook of her 1 year old’s birthday party that was taken by Monica. The photo was stunning. Just bright, gorgeous colors that popped. I was actively looking for a wedding photographer and emailed Monica immediately. I completely lucked out as she was available for my October 12th wedding. Her wedding price packages beat most of the photographers my wedding venue suggested and once she sent me a link to her portfolio, I was sold. Monica and Lauren showed up on time and were completely professional, yet not invasive or pushy. As a person who doesn’t typically like have staged photos taken, I felt completely comfortable in front of them. I didn’t even notice them taking photos during the ceremony, yet a have the most beautiful pictures now from it. I am so happy that I chose Monica S Photography and I highly recommend her and Lauren. I honestly think her work is better than some of the photographers I interviewed who where charging $8,000 and higher for smaller photo packages in Sacramento. I would recommend her for any bride, especially a bride who wants gorgeous photos but without feeling like a photographer is in your way the entire night.

Monica did an amazing job capturing life-long memories for my husband and I. Our wedding photos are gorgeous and I am forever grateful that we chose her as our photographer. Her passion and love for what she does can definitely be seen in our photos. Not one time did she ever make us feel like we were just her clients, but more like her friends. She was extremely patient and friendly and she went above and beyond to make us happy. I was very anxious and couldn’t wait to see all of our photos and to my surprise, she had them ready for us to view in a matter of weeks. Yes… weeks! As a new bride, that meant the world to me.
